Wednesday 25 March 2026:

  • 10:45 – Team buses (‘t Zand)
  • 11:15 – 12:30 – Team presentation (Market Square)
  • 12:45 – Start of the Tour of Bruges (Market Square)
  • 13:15 – 14:15 – Special Olympics
  • 14:45 – 1st passage (Gulden Vlieslaan)
  • 16:00 – 2nd passage (Gulden Vlieslaan)
  • 17:15 – Finish (Gulden Vlieslaan)
  • 17:30 – Podium ceremony (‘t Zand)

Accessibility city centre

On Wednesday 25 March and Thursday 26 March 2026, the start of the cycling race Tour of Bruges will take place on Bruges’ Market Square. The men’s race will start on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m., while the women’s race will start on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The organisation of this event will cause traffic disruptions in the city centre.

Traffic free streets and interruptions

The following streets will be traffic‑free on Tuesday 24 March:

  • Gulden Vlieslaan (between Ezelpoort and Hoefijzerlaan) from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Koningin Elisabethlaan (during installation of barriers)
  • Filips de Goedelaan (between Lauwerstraat and Karel de Stoutelaan)
  • Karel de Stoutelaan (between Keizer Karelstraat and Gulden Vlieslaan)

 

The following streets will be traffic‑free on Wednesday 25 March:

  • Market Square, from 9:30 a.m. until after the race has departed
  • Vrijdagmarkt, Zuidzandstraat and Steenstraat from 10:00 a.m. until after the race departure
  • Gulden Vlieslaan (between Ezelpoort and Hoefijzerlaan) from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Warandebrug, Komvest and Koningin Elisabethlaan (all heading towards Hoefijzerlaan) from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Filips de Goedelaan (between Lauwerstraat and Karel de Stoutelaan)
  • Karel de Stoutelaan (between Keizer Karelstraat and Gulden Vlieslaan)

 

The following streets will be traffic‑free on Thursday 26 March:

  • Market Square, from 9:30 a.m. until after the race departure
  • Vrijdagmarkt, Zuidzandstraat and Steenstraat from 11:00 a.m. until after the race departure
  • Gulden Vlieslaan (between Ezelpoort and Hoefijzerlaan) in the direction of Hoefijzerlaan, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Warandebrug, Komvest and Koningin Elisabethlaan (all heading towards Hoefijzerlaan) from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Filips de Goedelaan (between Lauwerstraat and Karel de Stoutelaan)
  • Karel de Stoutelaan (between Keizer Karelstraat and Gulden Vlieslaan)

A quarter of an hour before both races pass, the streets along the route will be made traffic‑free and will only reopen after the last rider has passed.

TOURISM AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The horse carriages and sightseeing minibuses will operate according to the following schedule:

  • Wednesday 25 March: available from 1:15 p.m. on Market Square
  • Thursday 26 March: available on the Burg

Taxis and buses will have to follow diversions during the race passage in the city centre.

The ’t Zand bus stop will remain served. The bus stops Howest, Vlamingdam, Ezelstraat and Jakobsstraat will not be served on Wednesday and Thursday until 5:00 p.m.

PARKING BANS

  • Karel De Stoutelaan (between Keizer Karelstraat and Filips de Goedelaan, park side): Tuesday, 24 March – Thursday, 26 March. Disabled parking temporarily relocated across the street
  • Filips de Goedelaan (between Lauwerstraat and Karel de Stoutelaan): Tuesday, 24 March – Thursday, 26 March
  • Graaf Visartpark (between cycle path and Keizer Karelstraat): Tuesday, 24 March – Thursday, 26 March
  • Koningin Elisabethlaan (odd-numbered side, between Leopold II-Laan and Ezelpoort): Tuesday, 24 March – Thursday, 26 March
  • Hauwerstraat (between Maagdenstraat and Zwijnstraat): Wednesday & Thursday
  • Entire Zwijnstraat: Wednesday & Thursday
  • Sint-Maartensbilk (between Zwijnstraat and Maagdenstraat): Wednesday & Thursday
  • Maagdenstraat (between Sint-Maartensbilk and Hauwerstraat): Wednesday & Thursday

DELIVERIES FOR SHOPS

  • Deliveries to Zuidzandstraat, Steenstraat, and Market must be completed by Wednesday, 25 March: 10:00 AMThursday, 26 March: 11:00 AM

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

De Lijn buses follow a modified route. The ’t Zand stop remains in service. The Gulden Vlieslaan stop (Vesten side) is temporarily moved to Hoefijzerlaan: Tuesday, 24 March – Thursday, 26 March 2026

Center shuttle (Wednesday & Thursday): Departs station at 1:40 PMFour stops not served until 5:00 PM: Howest, Vlamingdam, Ezelstraat, Sint-Jakobsstraat

From Stadsschouwburg stop, shuttle goes via Kuipersstraat to Market and Wollestraat until 5:00 PM

From 5:00 PM, shuttle resumes full route

WEDNESDAY MARKET

On Wednesday, 25 March, the market will be moved to Burg.
